Essential Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 thick slice of bread (approx. 200g)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 slice processed cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a wide bowl, crack 2 large eggs. Add 3 Tbsp of milk, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 Tbsp of sugar. Whisk gently with a fork until just combined. The key is to mix lightly without creating too much foam.

Step 1

Step 2

In a separate small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp of mayonnaise and 1 Tbsp of chili sauce. Mix well to create a delicious special sauce. Its sweet and spicy flavor will enhance the overall taste of the egg toast.

Step 2

Step 3

Carefully slice the thick bread in half using a serrated knife, ensuring the middle part remains attached. It’s helpful to make a slight pocket in the center, like a little pouch, to hold the filling.

Step 3

Step 4

Melt 1 Tbsp of butter in a lightly greased pan over medium-low heat. Pour in the whisked egg mixture and stir gently with chopsticks or a spatula to create soft scrambled eggs. Avoid overcooking; they should remain moist for the best flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

In another pan, melt the remaining 1 Tbsp of butter over low heat. Place the prepared bread slice in the pan and toast both sides until golden brown. Aim for a texture that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Step 5

Step 6

Spread the special sauce evenly on the inner sides of the toasted bread slice where you made the cut. The sauce will soak into the bread, adding more deliciousness.

Step 6

Step 7

Place 1 slice of processed cheese on top of the sauced bread. Then, generously pile the soft scrambled eggs you just made onto the cheese. The combination of melted cheese and eggs is simply divine.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, place the top half of the bread over the filling. Wrap the finished egg toast in parchment paper or plastic wrap to keep its shape intact and make it easy to hold and eat. Enjoy it while it’s warm!
