Super Simple & Delicious Buchu Bibimbap Recipe
Make Jo In-sung’s Buchu Bibimbap from ‘Unexpected Business’ with Fridge Staples!
This Buchu Bibimbap (Chive Rice Bowl) is incredibly delicious even without any special ingredients. It’s even easier than a soy sauce and egg rice bowl recipe, making it a perfect quick meal for busy mornings or evenings. Enjoy the fragrant freshness of chives, the nutty aroma of sesame oil, and the sweet and spicy kick of gochujang. 🍳
Main Ingredients- 1 bowl of warm rice (approx. 200g)
- 1 handful of fresh chives (approx. 50g)
- 1 egg
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the chives. Wash the chives thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Gently pat them dry with your hands or let them drain well in a colander. Once the excess water is removed, chop the chives into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm long.
Step 2
Get your serving bowl ready. Fill it generously with 1 bowl of warm rice. Arrange the prepared chives nicely on top of the rice. Now, add 0.5 tsp of gochujang for that signature bibimbap flavor and a good amount of shredded seaweed (gim) for added texture and taste. You can use store-bought shredded seaweed or crumble your own!
Step 3
Next, let’s make a delicious fried egg. Lightly oil a frying pan and crack in the egg. Fry it to your preference, whether you like it sunny-side up with a runny yolk or fully cooked through. A sunny-side up egg with a runny yolk is especially wonderful for mixing into the bibimbap, adding a rich creaminess.
Step 4
Finally, it’s time to add the finishing touches for maximum flavor. Gently place the warm fried egg on top of the bibimbap. Drizzle 1 tsp of fragrant sesame oil all around. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an extra nutty aroma and taste. Your delicious Buchu Bibimbap is now ready to be enjoyed! 🥄
