Ingredients
  • 1 medium potato
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 5g salt (approx. 1/2 tsp)
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 10g strawberry jam (approx. 1 Tbsp)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel the potato and dice it into bite-sized cubes. Place the diced potatoes in a pot, add just enough water to cover them, and boil. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until tender. They are ready when a fork can easily pierce them.

Step 2

In a separate pot, boil the 2 eggs until hard-boiled. This typically takes about 10-12 minutes. Once cooked, cool them in cold water and then carefully peel off the shells.

Step 3

Drain the boiled potatoes completely and place them in a large bowl. Mash them thoroughly using a fork or a potato masher. Mashing them finely is key to achieving a smooth texture. Next, add the peeled and mashed hard-boiled eggs to the bowl and mash them together. You can also finely chop the eggs with a knife.

Step 4

Now it’s time to season the mashed potato and egg mixture. Add 1 Tbsp of sugar, 5g of salt, and 2 Tbsp of mayonnaise for extra creaminess. Mix everything well until evenly combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, adding a little more salt if it’s too bland.

Step 5

Prepare the bread for the sandwich. Take 2 slices of bread and spread about 10g (approx. 1 Tbsp) of strawberry jam thinly on one side of each slice. The strawberry jam adds a sweet and slightly tart flavor that enhances the sandwich’s overall taste.

Step 6

Place 1 slice of cheese on top of the jam-spread bread. As the cheese melts, it will bind all the ingredients together, making the sandwich even more delicious.

Step 7

Generously spread the prepared potato and egg mixture over the cheese. Use a spoon or spatula to spread it evenly, filling any gaps. A thick layer of the potato-egg filling will make the sandwich look and taste more satisfying.

Step 8

Finally, top with the other slice of bread. Gently press down with your hands to secure the filling. If you like, you can cut the sandwich in half for a nicer presentation.
