Main Ingredients

  • Vienna sausages 360g (1 package)
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1/5 Bell pepper (choose your favorite color)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1/2 Tbsp Oligodang (or corn syrup, sugar)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced garlic

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onion and slice it into quarters, then into strips, or dice it into bite-sized cubes. For the bell pepper, remove the seeds and cut it into similar-sized pieces as the onion, or slightly smaller, for an appealing presentation and pleasant texture when cooked.

Step 1

Step 2

For the Vienna sausages, you can use them whole or score them with a knife diagonally 2-3 times. This helps the sauce penetrate better and prevents them from bursting while cooking. For a cleaner taste and appearance, briefly blanch the sausages in boiling water. Afterward, pat them dry with a paper towel.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent and releases its natural sweetness. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the onion is about halfway cooked and translucent, add the prepared Vienna sausages and bell pepper to the pan. Stir-fry over medium heat, ensuring all ingredients are mixed well.

Step 4

Step 5

When the sausages start to turn golden brown, add the soy sauce (1/2 Tbsp) around the edges of the pan. Stir-fry to coat the ingredients evenly; this step enhances the savory flavor and aroma.

Step 5

Step 6

Next, add the ketchup (1 Tbsp) and quickly stir-fry to combine with all the ingredients. The ketchup provides a pleasant tanginess that balances the overall flavor. Ensure the sauce coats the sausages and vegetables nicely.

Step 6

Step 7

Just before turning off the heat, add the oligodang (1/2 Tbsp) and stir to coat everything with the residual heat. Oligodang adds a lovely sheen and a smooth sweetness. You can substitute with corn syrup or sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are coated in the glossy sauce.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for a beautiful finish. This Sautéed Vienna Sausage dish is incredibly easy to make and tastes fantastic. Serve it over warm rice or pack it as a lunchbox side for kids. It’s a truly simple yet delicious staple dish that’s sure to be a hit!
