Quick & Delicious Pork Belly Stir-Fry
I want to share a special yet incredibly simple meal that will brighten your day. This is one of my absolute favorite go-to recipes, perfect for when you’re living alone or need a quick, satisfying dish. It takes no more than 10 minutes to whip up! It’s hearty thanks to the generous portion of pork and tastes amazing. I’m happy to share it with you all, though I wish I could share it in person! It’s a magical dish that’s delicious, visually appealing, and incredibly easy to make.
Main Ingredients- 150g thinly sliced pork belly
- 50g large green onion (about 1/4 stalk), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 50g shredded green onion (optional, for topping)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp corn syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place 1 tablespoon of sugar into a wide frying pan and heat over high heat. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning as it melts and caramelizes.
Step 2
Once the sugar starts to bubble and turn a deep caramel brown, add the 150g of thinly sliced pork belly and the 50g of chopped green onion. Stir-fry together over medium-high heat until the pork belly is nicely browned and fragrant, and the green onions are slightly softened.
Step 3
When the pork is about half-cooked and the green onions are lightly golden, reduce the heat to low. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Stir well to combine everything and continue to cook for about 3 minutes, ensuring the sauce doesn’t burn.
Step 4
When the pork is almost fully cooked, add 2 tablespoons of corn syrup and stir-fry for another minute until everything is glossy and well-coated. This dish is now complete! Serve it over a bowl of warm rice and top with the 50g of shredded green onion for an extra fresh crunch. Enjoy this incredibly simple and delicious meal!
