Main Ingredients- 300g Sundae (store-bought or leftover)
- 1/2 Green Onion (approx. 30g, white part preferred)
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Flour or Pancake Mix
Seasoning & Others- 1 pinch Salt (approx. 0.1g)
- A little Black Pepper
- 4-5 Tbsp Cooking Oil (e.g., Sunflower Oil)
- 1 pinch Salt (approx. 0.1g)
- A little Black Pepper
- 4-5 Tbsp Cooking Oil (e.g., Sunflower Oil)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare 300g of sundae. You can use store-bought sundae from large supermarkets, or leftover sundae that has been refrigerated. (Yields about 1.5 servings)
Step 2
Peel the outer casing of the sundae. Then, either mash it with your hands or finely chop it with a knife. Mashing it coarsely will give a chewier texture, while chopping finely will result in a smoother consistency.
Step 3
Crack 4 eggs into a bowl and whisk them until smooth. Finely chop the green onion, focusing on the white parts.
Step 4
Add the mashed or chopped sundae to the bowl with the whisked eggs and chopped green onion. Mix everything together well.
Step 5
Add 2 tablespoons of flour (or pancake mix), a pinch of salt, and a little black pepper to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined to form a batter. Adding a small amount of flour helps the pancake hold its shape when frying.
Step 6
Heat about 4-5 tablespoons of cooking oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Spoon the batter onto the pan, forming small, round pancakes. Be careful not to use high heat, as this can burn the outside while leaving the inside undercooked.
Step 7
Once the bottom of each pancake is golden brown, carefully flip it over using a spatula. Gently press down on the flipped pancake with the spatula to ensure even cooking. Continue to cook until both sides are a pleasing golden brown.
Step 8
While delicious when served hot, this Sundae Egg Pancake also offers a different charm when slightly cooled. This uniquely transformed dish is a fantastic side for all ages and a delightful, simple snack to pair with drinks.
