Stone-Baked Eggs
How to Make Chewy and Delicious Stone-Baked Eggs in an Air Fryer (Korean Spa Style)
Enjoy chewy and moist stone-baked eggs, just like from a Korean spa, made easily in your air fryer. The flavor and texture are superb, reminiscent of eggs fresh from a traditional Korean jjimjilbang (public bathhouse). This recipe is foolproof and uses only eggs, making it perfect for beginners.
Ingredients- Fresh eggs (as many as you like)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Before cooking, it’s crucial to let the eggs sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour. This warming process helps prevent the eggs from cracking due to the temperature difference when placed in the hot air fryer. Ensure you are using fresh, clean eggs.
Step 2
Carefully arrange the room-temperature eggs in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding. Set the air fryer to 140°C (285°F) and cook for the first 30 minutes. This temperature and duration are ideal for cooking the eggs thoroughly without burning the shells.
Step 3
After the initial 30 minutes, open the air fryer and gently flip the eggs. This ensures even cooking on all sides. Return the eggs to the air fryer and continue cooking at the same temperature of 140°C (285°F) for another 30 minutes. A total of 1 hour at this temperature will yield delicious, spa-quality stone-baked eggs.
Step 4
Once cooking is complete, immediately transfer the hot eggs into a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 10 minutes. This rapid cooling helps the eggs contract slightly, creating a small gap between the shell and the white, which makes peeling incredibly easy. You’ll find they peel much more smoothly after this chilling step. Enjoy your perfectly cooked stone-baked eggs! They are delicious dipped in a bit of salt. You can eat them warm or chilled.
