Main Ingredients- 1 Zucchini
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to make a simple yet incredibly delicious stir-fried dish with zucchini, which is in season this summer. We’ll incorporate a little tip from Baek Jong-won to enhance the flavor even further. With this recipe, you can easily create a wonderful side dish for your meals!
Step 2
First, wash the zucchini thoroughly. Slice it into half-moons or straight pieces, as you prefer. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced zucchini and stir-fry until it’s about halfway cooked. Stir-frying it in oil first like this will prevent the zucchini from breaking apart later and help it maintain its shape, making it more appealing to eat.
Step 3
Once the zucchini is half-cooked, add all the prepared seasoning ingredients. This includes 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp soy sauce (this adds umami, so we recommend it!), along with a bit of chopped green onion and shredded carrot. Sprinkle in the toasted sesame seeds. Now, stir-fry everything together until the moisture released from the zucchini has mostly evaporated and reduced. It’s important to cook slowly over medium-low heat to prevent burning.
Step 4
When all the ingredients are well-cooked and most of the zucchini’s moisture has evaporated, your delicious stir-fried zucchini is ready! It’s great served over hot rice for a mixed rice dish, or simply enjoyed as a side dish. Enjoy your mealtime with this simple yet nutritious seasonal stir-fried zucchini!
