Stir-fried Garlic Scapes with Ham
Extra Delicious Stir-fried Garlic Scapes with Ham!
Making stir-fried garlic scapes even more delicious by adding ham! My husband loves garlic scapes, but I usually don’t eat them, so I tried adding ham. He enjoyed both, and I ended up loving the ham part… lol. But honestly, it’s incredibly tasty! *_*
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh garlic scapes
- Ham
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 1/2 cup Water
- Sesame oil
- Toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the garlic scapes thoroughly and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Slice the ham into similar sizes and thicknesses. To remove any strong ham flavor, you can blanch it briefly in boiling water or, as I do, pour some hot water over it to rinse off excess oil.
Step 2
Let’s start cooking! Heat some oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add half a tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté. Be careful not to burn the garlic; cook until fragrant.
Step 3
Once the garlic releases its aroma, add the prepared garlic scapes to the pan and stir-fry them together. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic scapes begin to soften.
Step 4
Now, let’s add the seasoning. Pour in half a cup of water, half a tablespoon of soy sauce, and one tablespoon of oligosaccharide. Stir everything together and continue to cook until the sauce slightly reduces and coats the garlic scapes.
Step 5
Considering the cooking time for the garlic scapes, add the sliced ham to the pan and stir-fry together. The ham doesn’t need to be cooked for a long time; just stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes until it’s heated through and the flavors meld.
Step 6
Once everything is well combined and cooked, drizzle a swirl of sesame oil over the pan and sprinkle generously with toasted sesame seeds. Your delicious stir-fried garlic scapes with ham are ready to serve!
