Ingredients
  • 1.5kg Mussels
  • 1kg Scallops
  • 2 Red Chili Peppers
  • 2 Green Chili Peppers
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Onion (Scallion)

Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1.5 cups White Wine
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the mussels. Use a brush to scrub away any dirt or debris attached to the shells.

Step 2

For any stubborn bits that don’t come off, gently rub the mussels against each other to remove them.

Step 3

Pull out the fuzzy beards from the mussels by gently tugging them towards the hinge side of the shell.

Step 4

Once cleaned, rinse the mussels thoroughly under cold running water several times until they are clean.

Step 5

Drain the rinsed mussels well in a colander. This helps to remove excess water before cooking.

Step 6

Now, let’s prepare the scallops. Similar to the mussels, use a brush to clean any dirt or barnacles off the scallop shells.

Step 7

Finely chop 1 onion, 2 red chili peppers, 2 green chili peppers, and thinly slice 1 green onion. Prepare all your vegetables.

Step 8

Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt 1 Tbsp of butter. Add the chopped onion and 2 Tbsp of minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Step 9

Add the prepared mussels and scallops to the pan. Pour in 1.5 cups of white wine and stir gently. Once the liquid starts to boil, let it simmer for a moment.

Step 10

Add just enough water to come halfway up the sides of the shellfish. Cover the pan with a lid and steam for 5 minutes.

Step 11

Open the lid and redistribute the shellfish to ensure even cooking. Add the remaining ingredients: 2 red chili peppers, 2 green chili peppers, 1 green onion, 2 Tbsp lemon juice, and 1 Tbsp salt. Cook for another 3 minutes, or until all the shellfish are fully cooked and have opened. Your dish is ready!
