Main Ingredients

  • 1 can tuna (approx. 150g, drained)
  • 1/4 onion (small size)
  • 2 Tbsp canned corn kernels
  • 1/4 green onion (chopped)
  • 2 bowls cooked rice (warm)

Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A pinch of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your vegetables. Finely dice the onion and thinly slice the green onion. Drain the oil from the canned tuna thoroughly. (If you drain too much oil, the rice might become dry, so leaving a little bit behind is also good.)

Step 1

Step 2

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped green onions and diced onions, and stir-fry until they become translucent, releasing their aroma. Cooking with green onion oil greatly enhances the flavor of the fried rice.

Step 2

Step 3

Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the pan. Add the two bowls of warm rice. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of gochujang and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce over the rice. Mix everything together evenly, breaking up any clumps of rice with your spatula.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the drained tuna, 2 tablespoons of corn kernels, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Stir-fry quickly until all the ingredients are well combined. Cooking over high heat for a short period will result in wonderfully chewy and delicious fried rice.
