Spicy Tuna and Onion Stir-fry
Super Easy & Delicious Spicy Tuna and Onion Stir-fry Recipe
Whip up this incredibly simple yet addictive spicy tuna and onion stir-fry in just minutes! It’s perfect as a side dish for rice or a tasty snack. The fiery kick of buldak sauce, the savory umami of tuna, and the sweet aroma of onions combine to create an unforgettable flavor experience.
Main Ingredients- Tuna 90g (approx. 2 small cans)
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 Green chili pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, drain the oil thoroughly from the tuna cans using a sieve. This step ensures a cleaner and tastier stir-fry.
Step 2
Peel and wash the 1/2 onion. Slice it thinly into about 0.5cm strips. Cutting the onion uniformly will improve the texture after stir-frying.
Step 3
Trim the stems off the green chili pepper and slice it thinly, similar to the onion. If you enjoy more heat, you can adjust the amount of chili or leave the seeds in.
Step 4
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat (you can also use the tuna oil). Add the sliced onion and green chili pepper and stir-fry until the onion becomes translucent. Once the onion is slightly softened and sweet, add the drained tuna and continue to stir-fry together.
Step 5
Now, let’s add the spicy kick! Stir in 1 tablespoon of Buldak sauce and continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined. If you don’t have Buldak sauce, a mixture of gochujang (Korean chili paste) and soy sauce can be a good substitute.
Step 6
Finally, add a drizzle of sesame oil and a pinch of sesame seeds for extra flavor, and mix lightly. Your appetizing spicy tuna and onion stir-fry is now ready!
Step 7
Serve the completed tuna and onion stir-fry generously onto a plate. It’s absolutely delicious piled on top of a hot bowl of rice.
Step 8
Garnish with a sprinkle of toasted black sesame seeds for a final touch that enhances both appearance and nutty flavor.
Step 9
Enjoy this incredibly simple yet flavorful spicy tuna and onion stir-fry! It’s a true ‘rice thief’ that makes a delicious meal. Happy cooking!
