  • 5 strips Pork Belly (approx. 200-250g)
  • 1 Onion (medium-sized)
  • 1 handful Bean Sprouts (approx. 50-70g)
  • 1 Korean Red Chili (Cheongyang chili, or adjust to your spice preference)

First, let’s prepare the vegetables. Peel and thinly slice the onion. Finely chop the Korean red chili. (Tip: While not traditional, adding bean sprouts at this stage brings a delightful crunch to the dish!)

Clean the squid thoroughly. Briefly blanch it in boiling water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. This prevents the squid from becoming tough and releasing too much water. Once blanched, cut it into bite-sized pieces.

Cut the 5 strips of pork belly into bite-sized pieces using scissors or a knife. Avoid cutting them too small, as they will shrink when cooked. Place the cut pork belly into a bowl.
