Recipe Info

  • Category : Main dish
  • Ingredient Category : Pork
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 4 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 90 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 500g Pork Shoulder (sliced)
  • 200g Bean Sprouts

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, slice the 500g of pork shoulder into bite-sized pieces. In a large bowl, combine the sliced pork with all the marinade ingredients: 3 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp mirin, 2 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp plum extract, 1/2 Tbsp sugar, and a pinch of black pepper. Add the vegetables: 1 cup of green onions (cut diagonally), 1 sliced onion, and if you prefer a spicier kick, 1 diagonally sliced Cheongyang pepper.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently mix all the ingredients with your hands, ensuring the marinade coats the pork evenly. Instead of cooking immediately, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This allows the flavors to deepen and meld beautifully. For an even richer taste, you can marinate it for 2-3 hours.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork and stir-fry quickly until it starts to change color. Once the pork is partially cooked, generously pile 200g of bean sprouts on top. Immediately cover the pan with a lid and let it steam for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the bean sprouts to wilt. This steaming process helps keep the dish moist. Remove the lid, and stir everything together to ensure the pork and bean sprouts are evenly cooked. Finally, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp of sesame seeds for a finishing touch. Your delicious Spicy & Sweet Kongnamul Bulgogi is ready to be enjoyed!
