  • Ingredient Category : Vegetables
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Braise
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients
  • 150g Green chili peppers (select fresh, glossy ones)

Seasoning Ingredients
  • 3 Tbsp Soy sauce (adjust amount to your preference)
  • 1/2 tsp Minced garlic (using fresh minced garlic enhances the flavor)
  • 1 pinch Salt (helps season and wilt the chili peppers)
  • 1 tsp Oligosaccharide (adds a subtle sweetness and shine)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil (for a nutty aroma)
  • 1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds (sprinkle on top at the end)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, trim off the stems from the green chili peppers. Wash them thoroughly under running water and then pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel. Removing excess moisture is crucial to prevent oil splattering when stir-frying and to ensure the seasoning adheres well.

Step 2

Prepare a stir-fry pan. Using a pan that’s not too large, ideally suited for braising chili peppers, will help prevent the seasoning from burning and ensure even coating. (If you only have a large pan, tilting it slightly while cooking can be helpful.) Lightly oil the pan.

Step 3

Once the pan is heated, add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Then, add the green chili peppers and sprinkle a pinch of salt over them. Adding salt helps the chili peppers wilt quickly and aids in seasoning the dish.

Step 4

As the green chili peppers begin to soften slightly, add 2 tsp of water and 1 tsp of oligosaccharide. Gently tilt the pan to mix the ingredients and allow the chili peppers to soften and absorb the delicious seasoning. Taste the mixture and, if needed, add a tiny bit more soy sauce or salt to adjust to your preference. Finally, stir in the sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds. The dish is now complete!

Step 5

Transfer the finished braised green chili peppers to a serving dish. Enjoy this delicious side dish with a bowl of hot rice! Bon appétit!
