- Some carrot
- Appropriate amount of green onion
- Some cabbage
- 2 Korean green chili peppers
Seasoning- 2 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp corn syrup or oligodang
- A pinch of black pepper
- 2 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp corn syrup or oligodang
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all your vegetables and the octopus. Slice the green onions and Korean green chili peppers diagonally. Slice the onion into thin strips. Cut the carrot, cabbage, and the cooked octopus into bite-sized pieces. Having all your ingredients prepped will make the cooking process much smoother.
Step 2
Lightly oil a heated pan. Add the prepared octopus and stir-fry quickly over high heat. This will help bring out its flavor and texture.
Step 3
To the stir-fried octopus, add all the prepared seasoning ingredients: gochujang, soy sauce, minced garlic, gochugaru, sugar, corn syrup, and black pepper. Mix everything together.
Step 4
Stir the mixture with a spatula, ‘shuk shuk,’ until the seasoning coats the octopus evenly. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning the seasoning. Once the seasoning is well combined, move to the next step.
Step 5
Add the prepared onion, Korean green chili peppers, cabbage, and carrot to the octopus and seasoning. Stir-fry ‘shuk shuk’ until the vegetables are slightly tender but still retain a slight crispness. Avoid overcooking to maintain their fresh crunch.
Step 6
Finally, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and give it a quick stir, ‘whirlick,’ to finish. Your delicious stir-fried octopus is ready! Serve it over warm rice or enjoy it with a cold beer.
