Ingredients
  • 3 Shiitake Mushrooms
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 3 Tbsp Chopped Scallions
  • 1 pack Soft Silken Tofu
  • 1 pack ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon (Spicy Ramen)
  • 500-550ml Water
  • 1 Egg

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

If you want to enjoy your ramen a bit healthier, let’s prepare some vegetables that will add flavor and nutrition. Thinly slice 3 shiitake mushrooms and 1/4 onion. Also, have 3 tablespoons of chopped scallions ready. The mushrooms’ umami and the onion’s sweetness will make the broth even richer.

Step 2

Now, prepare the main ingredients: 1 pack of soft silken tofu and 1 pack of spicy ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon. The silken tofu’s smoothness will help mellow out the spiciness, making it even more enjoyable.

Step 3

Pour 500-550ml of water into a pot and add both the powder and dried vegetable soup packets from the ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon. You can adjust the amount of water to achieve your desired broth consistency.

Step 4

Carefully cut the silken tofu package in half to easily slide the tofu out into the pot. Then, use a spoon to gently break the large block of tofu into bite-sized pieces. It’s delicious even eaten in chunks!

Step 5

Add the pre-sliced shiitake mushrooms and onion to the pot. As the vegetables cook, they will impart a refreshing flavor to the broth.

Step 6

Once the water comes to a rolling boil, break the ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon packet in half and add the noodles to the pot. Gently separate the noodles so they don’t clump together.

Step 7

Check if the noodles are cooked to your liking. Typically, cooking for about 3 minutes will give you a nicely chewy texture, but you can adjust the cooking time based on your preference. If you prefer softer noodles, extend the cooking time slightly.

Step 8

When the noodles are cooked to your satisfaction, carefully crack 1 egg into the pot. Let the egg cook for a moment without stirring immediately after adding it. Finally, sprinkle the chopped scallions on top for a nice garnish, and simmer for just a little longer for a perfectly completed Silken Tofu ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon!

Step 9

Voilà! Your mouth-watering Silken Tofu ‘Yeol’ Ramyeon is ready. Enjoy a satisfying meal with this steaming bowl of ramen.
