Ingredients

  • Cooked rice, 200g (about 1 bowl)
  • Eggs, 2 large
  • Canned tuna, 1/2 can (drained, approx. 70-80g)

Seasoning & Oil

  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste), 1.5 Tbsp
  • Salt, a pinch
  • Toasted sesame seeds, 1 tsp
  • Black pepper, a pinch (optional)
  • Cooking oil, 1 Tbsp

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Crack the 2 eggs into the pan. Scramble the eggs gently until they are cooked but still slightly soft and moist. This will add a wonderful creaminess to the fried rice.

Step 2

Lightly season the scrambled eggs with a pinch of salt. Add the 200g of cooked rice to the pan. Using a spatula, gently break up the rice and mix it with the scrambled eggs, ensuring it’s evenly combined.

Step 3

Now, it’s time to add the star flavors! Add the drained 1/2 can of tuna and 1.5 Tbsp of gochujang to the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the ingredients are well incorporated. Make sure to cook over medium heat to prevent the gochujang from burning, allowing its savory flavor to coat the rice evenly. You’ll know it’s ready when you can smell the delicious aroma. Add a pinch of black pepper if desired for extra kick.

Step 4

Once everything is thoroughly fried and well mixed, turn off the heat. Drizzle about 1/2 Tbsp of sesame oil over the fried rice to add a nutty aroma and flavor. Gently toss to distribute the sesame oil. Finally, sprinkle 1 tsp of toasted sesame seeds over the top for added texture and nutty flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy this delightful Tuna, Gochujang, and Egg Fried Rice!
