Versatile Homemade Salsa Sauce Recipe
Discover how to make a delightful homemade salsa sauce bursting with fresh tomatoes, vibrant vegetables, and a special blend of seasonings. This salsa is perfect for dipping chips, topping tacos, or enhancing any grilled dish!
Main Ingredients
- 1 ripe tomato
- 1/4 yellow bell pepper
- 1 piece of onion (approx. 1/8 small onion)
- 1 pickled chili pepper (or jalapeño as a substitute)
Seasonings & Flavor
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp chili powder (adjust to spice preference)
- 2 Tbsp steak sauce (for umami richness)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp chili powder (adjust to spice preference)
- 2 Tbsp steak sauce (for umami richness)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by thoroughly washing the ripe tomato and removing its core. Dice it into uniform 0.5cm cubes. Similarly, dice the yellow bell pepper and the piece of onion into 0.5cm cubes. Cutting the vegetables into consistent sizes ensures a pleasing texture and appearance in the final salsa.
Step 2
Finely mince the pickled chili pepper (or jalapeño). Remove the seeds before mincing. If you enjoy a spicier kick, feel free to use more chili pepper. Mincing the chili finely will distribute its heat and flavor evenly throughout the salsa.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomato, bell pepper, and onion with the finely minced chili pepper. Add the minced garlic, chili powder, and steak sauce. Stir everything together gently but thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, perhaps with a pinch of salt or pepper.
Step 4
Your homemade salsa is now ready! While it’s delicious to enjoy immediately, letting it chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld beautifully, resulting in a richer taste. Serve with tortilla chips, use it as a topping for tacos, quesadillas, salads, or spoon over grilled steak or chicken for an extra burst of flavor!
