Ingredients

  • Kimchi Stew, 3 ladles (approx. 1.5 cups)
  • Tomato Sauce, 2 ladles (approx. 1 cup)
  • Minced Garlic, 1 tsp
  • Dried Basil, 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper, 1/2 tsp
  • Spaghetti Pasta, 1 serving (approx. 80-100g)
  • Natural Seasoning Seafood Broth, 2 ladles (approx. 1 cup, or anchovy/chicken broth can be used)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Heat a wide pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, then add the tomato sauce and cook together for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 1

Step 2

Pour the seafood broth (or other broth) into the sautéed tomato sauce. Add the dried basil and black pepper to enhance the aroma. Once the broth begins to simmer, reduce the heat slightly.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, add the star ingredient: 3 ladles of your leftover kimchi stew. The more aged and flavorful your kimchi stew, the deeper the taste will be. Stir to combine the kimchi stew with the sauce and let it simmer vigorously for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and concentrate.

Step 3

Step 4

In a separate pot, boil plenty of water with a pinch of salt. Cook the spaghetti pasta according to package directions, but remove it about 1 minute earlier than recommended for an al dente texture. Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the pan with the prepared sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce, and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the pasta to absorb the sauce’s flavor. Reserve some of the pasta water; it can be used to adjust the sauce’s consistency if needed.

Step 4

Step 5

Transfer the well-coated pasta from the sauce pan to a serving plate, arranging it appealingly. Twirling the pasta and stacking it high can make for a beautiful presentation.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, sprinkle with dried parsley and grated Parmesan cheese to your liking for an extra layer of flavor. If you desire more heat, you can crumble in some red pepper flakes or add a pinch of chili powder.

Step 6

Step 7

Behold! A unique pasta is complete, featuring the perfect harmony of the spicy, refreshing taste of kimchi stew and the tangy-sweetness of tomato sauce. It’s reminiscent of a sophisticated hangover soup! Isn’t it amazing how leftover kimchi stew can be transformed into such a magnificent dish? You must experience the incredible flavor combination of tomato and kimchi stew. Try this recipe when you’re craving something different, need a special meal, or simply don’t have much of an appetite!
