  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 2 Cheongyang chili peppers
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 stalk green onion (scallion)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, slice the fish cakes into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5 cm wide. Thinly slice the onion. Remove the seeds from the red and Cheongyang chili peppers and finely chop them. Slice the green onion diagonally. Prepare all your vegetables.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pan with about 3 tablespoons of cooking oil over medium heat. Add the sliced fish cakes and all the prepared vegetables (onion, red chili, Cheongyang chili, green onion) at once. Stir-fry until the vegetables soften slightly.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the vegetables are somewhat cooked, add the soy sauce (2 Tbsp), sugar (1 Tbsp), corn syrup (2 Tbsp), and minced garlic (1 Tbsp). Stir well to coat all the ingredients evenly with the seasoning. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the sauce from burning.

Step 3

Step 4

Finally, add the heaped tablespoon of gochugaru (Korean chili powder). Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, ensuring the seasoning is well distributed. The gochugaru will add a beautiful red color and a pleasant spicy aroma.
