Spicy Mussel Ramen
Perfect for a late-night snack or hangover cure! Craving this comforting mussel ramen when it’s cold.
We’re elevating a simple ramen by simmering it in leftover mussel soup, creating a wonderfully rich and flavorful dish. This recipe is perfect for both a satisfying meal and a delicious hangover cure.
Main Ingredients
- 1 bowl of leftover mussel soup (approx. 2 servings)
- 1/2 green onion
- 1 ramen noodle packet
Seasoning
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Pour the 1 bowl of leftover mussel soup into a pot. Add about 1.5 cups (approx. 300ml) of water for cooking the ramen. You can adjust the amount of water based on the saltiness and volume of your mussel soup.
Step 2
While the water is heating, prepare your ramen noodle packet. (Opening the packet can also be done at the final step.)
Step 3
Finely chop the 1/2 green onion. Using both the white and light green parts will add a wonderful fragrance. For added texture and flavor, consider adding bean sprouts or mushrooms according to your preference.
Step 4
Once the mussel broth is boiling vigorously, add the ramen noodles and the ramen soup base. Stir in 1 tsp of chili powder for an extra spicy kick, making it an excellent hangover remedy.
Step 5
Cook the noodles until they reach your desired doneness, aiming for a slightly firm texture (‘al dente’). When the noodles are almost cooked, add the chopped green onion and simmer for another 30 seconds. The crisp green onion and its refreshing aroma will infuse the ramen, making it even more delicious.
Step 6
Your hot and refreshing mussel ramen is ready! It tastes like a restorative soup that soothes the soul, yet has a deep, spicy flavor that makes you want to enjoy a drink alongside it. Enjoy while it’s piping hot!
