Main Ingredients- 1 pack instant ramen
- 1 handful fresh bean sprouts (about 50g)
- 1 handful well-fermented kimchi (about 50g), finely chopped
Seasoning & Extras- 0.5 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), adjustable to taste
- A pinch of black pepper
- 0.5 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), adjustable to taste
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a pot, add the amount of water specified on the ramen package. Add the thoroughly washed bean sprouts and the chopped kimchi. The tangy kimchi and refreshing bean sprouts will create a wonderfully complex broth.
Step 2
Add the ramen soup base to the pot and season the broth. The basic seasoning is usually enough, but if you prefer it spicier, feel free to add a little more kimchi.
Step 3
Once the water comes to a rolling boil, add the ramen noodles. Gently loosen the noodles with chopsticks as they cook to prevent them from sticking together. Cook according to your preference for noodle texture, but be careful not to overcook, as they can become mushy.
Step 4
When the ramen is almost done cooking, stir in 0.5 Tbsp of gochugaru if desired. Add more if you like it extra spicy. Finally, add a pinch of black pepper to enhance the aroma.
Step 5
When the noodles are cooked to your liking and the broth has slightly reduced, turn off the heat and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious Kimchi and Bean Sprout Ramen, featuring perfectly chewy noodles and a refreshing, spicy broth!
