This recipe is all about using up those leftover ingredients from your fridge and freezer, like scallops, clams, mixed seafood, and thinly sliced pork belly, to create a luxurious jjamppong-inspired ramen. Even without these premium additions, I’ll show you how to achieve a truly delicious jjamppong flavor. Get ready for a ramen experience like no other!
Ingredients- 1 pack instant ramen
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/3 green onion
- 1/2 onion
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables that will enhance the flavor of your jjamppong ramen. Slice the green onion diagonally (about 1/3 of a stalk) and thinly slice the half onion.
Step 2
Heat a pot over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Add the sliced green onion, minced garlic (1 Tbsp), ramen soup base (1 packet), and gochugaru (1 Tbsp). Stir-fry these ingredients until fragrant, being careful not to burn them. This step creates the rich and spicy base for your jjamppong.
Step 3
Pour 500ml of water into the pot with the sautéed vegetables and seasoning. Stir well with chopsticks to dissolve the soup base completely. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
Step 4
Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add your desired toppings. Feel free to add scallops, clams, mixed seafood, pork belly, or any other ingredients you have in your fridge or freezer. Loading it up with these ingredients will transform your simple ramen into a gourmet jjamppong dish!
Step 5
After the toppings have cooked through, add the ramen noodles to the boiling broth. Gently stir with chopsticks to separate the noodles and ensure they cook evenly.
Step 6
Finally, add the sliced onion and a pinch of black pepper if desired. Let it simmer for another moment until everything is well combined. Your flavorful jjamppong ramen with a smoky aroma is now ready to be enjoyed!
