Main Ingredients- 1 strip Pork Belly (approx. 150-200g, marinated in gochujang sauce)
- 1 bowl Warm Cooked Rice (200-250g)
- 3 Tbsp Mozzarella Cheese (adjust to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the delicious gochujang pork belly. In a bowl, mix 2 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp sugar, 0.5 Tbsp soy sauce, 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp mirin, 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil, and a pinch of black pepper to create the marinade. Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3cm) and toss them with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes. (For an even richer flavor, let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or longer.)
Step 2
Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the marinated pork belly and stir frequently, making sure not to burn it, until it’s golden brown and slightly crispy. You can drain some of the rendered fat for a cleaner taste. Set the cooked pork belly aside on a separate plate.
Step 3
In the same pan (with the remaining flavorful pork belly drippings), add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice and drizzle 1 Tbsp of oyster sauce. Stir-fry the rice, breaking up any clumps with your spatula, until it becomes fluffy and well-combined. Add the reserved gochujang pork belly back into the pan and continue to stir-fry everything together until the rice and pork belly are thoroughly mixed. It’s important to fry the rice well so that each grain is coated with the delicious seasoning.
Step 4
Transfer the well-fried rice to a nice serving plate. Generously top the warm rice with 3 Tbsp of mozzarella cheese. Feel free to mix in other cheeses like cheddar if you like!
