Main Ingredients- 1 pack Enoki mushrooms
- 7 cm Green onion
Spicy & Sweet Sauce- 1.5 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp Low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/3 Tbsp Ginger syrup
- 1 Tbsp Plum extract
- 1 Tbsp Perilla oil
- 1.5 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp Low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/3 Tbsp Ginger syrup
- 1 Tbsp Plum extract
- 1 Tbsp Perilla oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the special sauce for our delicious grilled enoki mushrooms! In a bowl, combine 1.5 Tbsp Gochujang, 1/3 Tbsp Gochugaru, 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce, 1/3 Tbsp ginger syrup, 1 Tbsp plum extract, and 1 Tbsp perilla oil. Whisk thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined. Ensuring the sauce is well-mixed is key for maximum flavor.
Step 2
Now, it’s time to prepare the enoki mushrooms. Keep the mushrooms in their packaging and use a knife to trim off the bottom root. This helps to keep the mushrooms intact and allows for a neat removal of the base.
Step 3
Once the base is trimmed, gently separate the mushroom clusters using chopsticks or your fingers. Be careful not to tear them too forcefully, as they can become mushy. Loosen them into bite-sized pieces for better sauce absorption and texture when cooked.
Step 4
Heat 1 Tbsp of perilla oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is warm, carefully arrange the prepared enoki mushrooms in a single layer in the pan. Brush about 1/3 of the prepared sauce evenly over the mushrooms. Avoid applying too thick a layer, as it might burn; adjust the amount as needed.
Step 5
Cook on medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until one side of the mushrooms is golden brown and slightly softened. Flip the mushrooms carefully using a spatula. Check if the bottom side is nicely browned before proceeding.
Step 6
After flipping, spread the remaining sauce evenly over the other side of the mushrooms. Add the sliced green onion and stir-fry together. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes until both the mushrooms and green onions are nicely browned and the sauce has thickened slightly. Your delicious Gochujang Grilled Enoki Mushrooms are now ready! Serve immediately and enjoy.
