Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the frozen tteokgalbi patties in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning.
Step 2
Once cooked, remove the tteokgalbi from the pan and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Transfer the cut tteokgalbi to a paper towel to absorb any excess oil, making it less greasy.
Step 3
Rinse the bean sprouts under running water and gently shake off excess water. Finely chop or julienne the bell pepper. The colorful bell peppers will add visual appeal to the fried rice.
Step 4
Add the chopped tteokgalbi, cooked rice, and prepared bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry everything together, breaking up any clumps of rice with your spatula to ensure even cooking.
Step 5
Pour in the soy sauce (1 Tbsp) and corn syrup or oligosaccharide (0.5 Tbsp). Continue to stir-fry over medium-low heat for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld into the ingredients.
Step 6
Now, add the prepared bean sprouts to the pan. Increase the heat to high and quickly stir-fry, tossing the ingredients gently. This rapid cooking helps the bean sprouts retain their crispness. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Finally, turn off the heat and drizzle with sesame oil for a nutty aroma.
Step 7
The finished Tteokgalbi fried rice is perfectly balanced with savory and slightly sweet flavors, without being overpowering. The rich taste of the tteokgalbi combined with the rice makes for a satisfying meal.
Step 8
The addition of crunchy bean sprouts creates a wonderful textural contrast with the tender tteokgalbi. Every bite offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors that are sure to please!
Step 9
For an even more delicious experience, serve this fried rice with well-fermented kimchi or pickled radish. We hope you enjoy a hearty and wonderful meal with this Tteokgalbi fried rice today!
