Spicy Chili Cheese Fries
Transform Leftover Fries into Delicious Chili Cheese Fries
Freshly fried french fries are amazing, but they tend to get soggy as they cool. Don’t let those leftover fries go to waste! Today, we’re showing you how to turn them into incredibly tasty Chili Cheese Fries. This recipe is perfect for reviving leftover fries and enjoying them all over again with a flavorful kick.
Ingredients- 1 serving of french fries (leftovers are perfect!)
- 2.5 Tbsp tomato sauce
- 4g hot sauce (or to taste)
- 1 slice mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese slices)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the french fries in a microwave-safe dish. If using freshly fried fries, arrange them nicely. If you’re using leftover fries, you can briefly microwave them to regain some crispiness before proceeding. Spread the fries evenly in the dish to ensure the sauce coats them well.
Step 2
Generously pour the tomato sauce over the french fries, ensuring they are well-covered. Use about 2.5 tablespoons of tomato sauce. This will provide a wonderful sweet and tangy base that complements the fries beautifully.
Step 3
Next, drizzle the hot sauce evenly over the fries. The 4g amount provides a gentle warmth, but feel free to adjust it based on your spice preference. You could also add a dash of sriracha for extra heat if you like it spicy!
Step 4
Now for the cheesy goodness! Top the fries with the mozzarella cheese slice(s). Cover them generously so that the cheese can melt and bind everything together. You can also use other cheeses like cheddar or Monterey Jack. Microwave on high for about 1.5 to 2 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage.
Step 5
Voilà! Your delicious Chili Cheese Fries are ready to enjoy. Serve immediately while hot for the best texture and flavor. The fries will be wonderfully tender, coated in a savory chili sauce, and topped with melted, gooey cheese. For an extra touch, you can garnish with a sprinkle of parsley or some finely chopped onions.
