Main Ingredients
- 1 handful Tteokbokki rice cakes (approx. 100-150g)
- 1 pack ramen noodles
- 1 handful green onions, chopped
- 1 handful cabbage, thinly sliced
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to show you how to easily and deliciously make Rabokki, a beloved Korean snack enjoyed by all ages. The combination of spicy and sweet tteokbokki broth with chewy ramen noodles is simply divine.
Step 2
First, let’s make the delicious Rabokki sauce. In a pot, combine 1 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Add 500ml of water and mix well. Then, add the tteokbokki rice cakes to this mixture. It’s a good idea to rinse the rice cakes in cold water before adding them.
Step 3
Place the pot with the sauce and rice cakes over medium-high heat and bring it to a boil. Once the broth starts boiling, add your fish cakes (eomuk), cut into bite-sized pieces. (If you have fish cakes, add them; it’s delicious even without them!)
Step 4
After adding the fish cakes, wait for the broth to boil again, then add the ramen noodles. As the ramen cooks, use chopsticks to gently separate the noodles to prevent them from clumping together.
Step 5
When the ramen noodles are almost cooked, add the thinly sliced cabbage and chopped green onions. The sweetness from the vegetables and the fragrant aroma of the green onions will enrich the flavor of your Rabokki. Cook over high heat for a short time to keep the vegetables slightly crisp.
Step 6
And there you have it! Your delicious Rabokki, a true crowd-pleaser, is now ready. It’s best enjoyed hot and fresh. With chewy rice cakes, satisfying noodles, and plenty of vegetables, enjoy your delightful meal!
