Ingredients

  • 1 pack chicken radish
  • 1 bowl warm cooked rice
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 1/5 stalk green onion
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 0.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • A pinch of sesame seeds
  • A drizzle of sesame oil
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A sprinkle of shredded seaweed (gim)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for the fried rice. It’s especially important to finely chop the chicken radish, bacon, and green onion so they blend well into the rice.

Rinse the chicken radish briefly under running water. This helps to remove excess additives and saltiness, making it taste cleaner. After rinsing, drain it thoroughly in a colander.

Finely mince the drained chicken radish. Cutting it into small pieces will help it mix better with the rice and provide a pleasant texture.

Finely chop the bacon for a nice bite, and thinly slice the green onion for added aroma. The green onion will be used to create fragrant green onion oil.

Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Add the sliced green onion and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden to create green onion oil. Then, add the chopped bacon and cook until it’s slightly browned. Next, add the minced chicken radish and 1 tablespoon of gochugaru, stir-frying over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until the chicken radish is coated in the chili flakes.

Add 0.5 tablespoon of brown sugar and 0.5 tablespoon of soy sauce, and continue to stir-fry for about 1 minute to enhance the sweetness and savory notes of the chicken radish. Once the seasonings are well combined, add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice and 0.5 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Break up the rice with your spatula and stir-fry for about 3 minutes until the rice is fluffy and well-mixed. Finally, stir in a drizzle of sesame oil and a pinch of sesame seeds for added aroma and nutty flavor.

Sprinkle a pinch of black pepper for extra flavor, then give it a final stir. Your delicious chicken radish fried rice, with all the flavors harmoniously blended, is now ready! It’s incredibly simple.
