Ingredients

  • 100g soybean sprouts, washed and prepared
  • 1 packet Yeol Ramen (instant noodles; keep seasoning packet)
  • 500ml water
  • 150g cooked rice (preferably day-old or cold)
  • 1 Tbsp coarse gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic
  • A pinch of bonito flakes (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Begin by thoroughly washing 100g of soybean sprouts under running water. Drain them well and set aside. The sprouts add a refreshing element to the porridge.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare one packet of Yeol Ramen. Keep the dried vegetable packet with the noodles, but set aside the main soup powder. Use scissors to cut the ramen noodles into smaller, bite-sized pieces. This helps them integrate better into the porridge.

Step 2

Step 3

In a pot, combine the washed soybean sprouts and 500ml of water. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the sprouts are tender.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the soybean sprouts are cooked, use scissors to finely chop them directly in the pot. This makes the sprouts less intrusive and blends them smoothly into the porridge.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, add 150g of cooked rice to the pot. Break up any clumps of rice and continue to cook over high heat. The rice will gradually absorb the liquid and start to break down.

Step 5

Step 6

When the rice has softened and the mixture begins to resemble porridge, add the cut ramen noodles, the ramen soup powder, 1 Tbsp of coarse gochugaru, and 0.5 Tbsp of minced garlic. Continue to boil over high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the porridge thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 6

Step 7

Once the ramen noodles have completely broken down and the mixture is porridge-like, turn off the heat. Carefully ladle the hot hangover ramen porridge into serving bowls. Be cautious, as it will be very hot!

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, garnish the hangover ramen porridge with a pinch of bonito flakes. The bonito flakes add an extra layer of umami and smoky flavor, enhancing the overall taste. Enjoy your revitalizing meal!
