  • Refreshing Broth 1.2L (Anchovy-Kelp broth or store-bought broth)
  • Fresh Clam Meat 120g
  • Crisp Bean Sprouts 200g
  • Aromatic Green Onion ½ stalk
  • Spicy Cheongyang Pepper 1
  • Minced Garlic 0.5 Tbsp

Cooking Instructions

First, thinly slice the green onion to enhance the soup’s flavor. If you enjoy a spicy kick, thinly slice the Cheongyang pepper as well.

Rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water and drain them. It’s important to wash them well to avoid any unpleasant smell.

Pour the refreshing broth (1.2L) into the pot you’ll be cooking in. Add the prepared clam meat (120g) and 1 Tbsp of Korean soy sauce (or fish sauce) for a savory depth. Seasoning the broth beforehand will result in a much richer flavor.

While the broth is heating, arrange the sliced green onion, Cheongyang pepper, and 0.5 Tbsp of minced garlic on top of the bean sprouts. Placing the ingredients on top like this allows for a neat cooking process when you add the bean sprouts all at once.

Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add all the prepared bean sprouts! To ensure the bean sprouts remain crisp, cover the pot with a lid and cook for approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Overcooking will make them mushy and diminish the flavor.
