The Quintessential Korean Comfort Food: Tuna Kimchi Stew Recipe Enhanced with Ramen
A symphony of tangy kimchi and savory tuna! If you’re a kimchi stew lover, this recipe is a must-try. Adding chewy ramen noodles takes it to a whole new level of deliciousness – you’ll be asking for seconds! Make a fantastic meal with these super simple ingredients.
Main Ingredients- 1 can (85g) Tuna, drained
- 1 cup well-fermented kimchi, chopped (the more, the merrier!)
Additional Ingredients- 1 can Spam or canned ham
- 1 serving Ramen noodles
- 1 can Spam or canned ham
- 1 serving Ramen noodles
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, add the entire drained can of tuna to a pot.
Step 2
Next, chop the well-fermented, slightly sour kimchi into bite-sized pieces and add it to the pot. Feel free to adjust the amount of kimchi to your preference; more kimchi will result in a richer flavor.
Step 3
Stir-fry the tuna and kimchi in the pot over medium heat. This sautéing step softens the kimchi and brings out the savory notes of the tuna.
Step 4
Once the tuna and kimchi are somewhat sautéed, pour in enough water to generously cover the ingredients. At this point, add the Spam or canned ham, cut into cubes, for extra texture and umami.
Step 5
When the stew begins to boil vigorously, gently add the ramen noodles. Loosen them slightly to prevent clumping.
Step 6
Continue to simmer until the noodles are fully cooked and the stew has thickened slightly. Your delicious Tuna Kimchi Stew is ready! Enjoy it with a hot bowl of rice.
