Main Ingredients
- 3-4 pcs fresh pollack roe
- 3 Korean chili peppers (Cheongyang peppers)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, use clean scissors to cut the pollack roe into bite-sized pieces, about 1-2 cm long. Avoid cutting them too small, as they might become mushy; slightly thicker pieces are best.
Step 2
Wash the Korean chili peppers, then slice them in half lengthwise. Carefully remove all the seeds – this helps to reduce the spiciness for a cleaner taste. Finely mince the deseeded chili peppers.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, place the prepared pollack roe. Add the minced chili peppers, toasted sesame seeds, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. While you can add minced garlic or green onions if you like, for this recipe, we recommend keeping it simple to highlight the clean spiciness of the chili peppers and the original flavor of the pollack roe.
Step 4
Gently mix all the ingredients together with a spatula or spoon until well combined. Be careful not to overmix or mash the pollack roe. And just like that, you have a delicious summer side dish, pollack roe salad, completed without any fuss!
