Recipe Info

  • Category : Noodles & Dumplings
  • Ingredient Category : Processed foods
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Boil / Simmer
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 1 packet of ramen (choose your favorite kind)
  • 500ml water (approx. 2 cups)
  • 100g tteokguk tteok (rice cakes for soup, adjustable to taste)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 green onion (use both white and green parts)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully check and prepare all the ingredients needed for the recipe. Pour 500ml of clean water into a pot and place it on the stove. Using broth instead of water can add a deeper flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the green onion thoroughly, then finely chop both the white and green parts. Finely mincing it will allow the onion flavor to gently infuse into the broth, making it even more delicious.

Step 2

Step 3

Crack 1 fresh egg into a bowl and gently whisk it with a fork or chopsticks until the yolk and white are well combined. Be careful not to whisk too vigorously.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water in the pot begins to boil vigorously, add the ramen noodles and the entire seasoning packet. Adding the seasoning first allows it to dissolve well as the water boils.

Step 4

Step 5

As the ramen noodles start to loosen up, simultaneously add the 100g of prepared tteokguk tteok. The rice cakes will cook along with the noodles, adding a delightful chewy texture.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, add all the finely chopped green onions to the pot. The refreshing taste of green onions will add flavor to the broth.

Step 6

Step 7

After boiling for about 3 minutes since adding the ramen, slowly pour the prepared beaten egg in a circular motion (clockwise or counter-clockwise) around the edges of the pot. If you let it sit without stirring immediately after adding the egg, you’ll get fluffy, cloud-like egg wisps. Once the noodles and rice cakes reach your desired texture, turn off the heat. Your delicious Tteok Ramen is ready! Enjoy your meal!
