Burger Ingredients

  • 6 Morning Buns
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 2 Lettuce Leaves
  • 6 tsp Ketchup
  • 6 tsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil

Shrimp Patty Ingredients

  • 10 Prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 3 Tbsp Minced Chives
  • 1 Tbsp Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp Cornstarch or Potato Starch
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Pinch of Salt (to taste)
  • Pinch of Black Pepper (to taste)

Cooking Instructions

In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp breadcrumbs, 1 Tbsp starch, 1 egg yolk, 1 tsp fresh lemon juice, a pinch of black pepper, a pinch of salt, and 3 Tbsp finely minced chives. These ingredients will enhance the shrimp’s flavor and create a chewy texture.

Carefully remove the deveined part from the back of the fresh prawns using a toothpick. Peel off the shells and remove the heads. Finely mince the shrimp meat with a knife. Add the minced shrimp to the bowl with the other ingredients and mix well, kneading the mixture until it becomes cohesive and slightly sticky. This ensures the patty holds its shape.

Heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Take portions of the shrimp mixture and shape them into patties. For a good fit with the elongated morning buns, shaping them into oval patties works well. Cook the shrimp patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Ensure the inside is fully cooked.
