Sparkling Star Omja Fruit Punch
How to Make a Fruit Omja Punch That Shines Like Stars
With the omja (Schisandra berry) syrup I made last year, I’ve whipped up a simple and refreshing fruit punch! Cutting the fruits into star shapes makes it visually appealing and adds to the delightful experience. It feels like a constellation has spilled into the punch bowl! While watermelon punch is a summer classic, fruit-based punches offer a unique and wonderful flavor profile. One great advantage of making fruit punch is that it helps prevent fruits like apples from browning too quickly. This recipe is perfect for when you’re tired of eating fruit as is or want to enjoy them in a novel way. Enjoy the stars, the fruits, and the goodness of omja! ^^
Ingredients
- 200ml Omja (Schisandra Berry) Syrup
- 200ml Water
- 1/2 Apple
- 1/2 Banana
- 2 slices Melon
- 3 slices Mandarin Orange
- 1 Fig
- 1 cup Ice Cubes
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash all the fruits thoroughly and peel them. Then, slice them into uniform pieces, about 4-5mm thick. Use cookie cutters or a knife to cut them into your desired shapes, like stars, for a beautiful presentation.
Step 2
Dilute the omja syrup. Typically, the ratio of omja syrup to water is 1:4 or 1:5. However, considering that fruits and melting ice will dilute the flavor, I’ve made a slightly stronger base by diluting it 1:1 to ensure the distinct omja flavor comes through.
Step 3
Arrange the cut fruits attractively in a serving bowl. Pour the prepared omja and water mixture over the fruits. Finally, top generously with ice cubes. This ensures a refreshingly cool drink.
Step 4
Feel free to substitute the fig with seasonal fruits or any fruits you have on hand in your refrigerator. In the summer, adding large chunks of watermelon makes the punch even more refreshing and delicious. Experimenting with different fruits will offer a new taste and texture each time!
