Main Ingredients- Spam 100g (about 1/3 of a can)
- Yellow Bell Pepper 1/5
- Red Bell Pepper 1/5
- Egg 1
- Cooking Oil 3 Tbsp
- Cooked Rice 1.5 bowls (approx. 300g)
- Parsley Flakes (optional)
Seasoning- Minced Garlic 1 Tbsp
- Soy Sauce 1.5 Tbsp
- Black Pepper (a pinch)
- Salt (to taste)
- Minced Garlic 1 Tbsp
- Soy Sauce 1.5 Tbsp
- Black Pepper (a pinch)
- Salt (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely dice the Spam and the colorful bell peppers into small cubes, about 0.5cm thick, so they mix well with the rice and provide a pleasant texture.
Step 2
Heat 3 tablespoons of cooking oil in a wok or deep skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is warm, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it, to infuse the oil with garlic flavor.
Step 3
When the garlic is fragrant, add the diced Spam and bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, allowing the savory flavor of the Spam to meld with the peppers.
Step 4
Push the cooked Spam and peppers to one side of the pan. Crack the egg into the empty space and scramble it. Break the yolk and stir with chopsticks or a spatula until the egg is softly cooked, like scrambled eggs.
Step 5
Now, mix all the ingredients in the pan (cooked Spam, peppers, and scrambled egg) evenly. Add 1.5 bowls of cooked rice and drizzle 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce over it. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, using a spatula to break up the rice and ensure the ingredients and soy sauce are well combined.
Step 6
Once the rice is fluffy and well-fried, reduce the heat to low. Sprinkle a pinch of black pepper for added aroma. Taste the fried rice; the Spam is already salty, so add a tiny amount of salt only if needed to adjust the final seasoning. Remember that the saltiness of Spam can vary, so always taste and adjust accordingly.
Step 7
Transfer the finished fried rice to a serving dish. For an extra touch, sprinkle with parsley flakes. Enjoy your delicious meal!
