Spam and Tofu Pouch Sushi Rolls
Easy Spam and Inari Sushi for a Quick Late-Night Snack!*
Deliciously made with Spam! A delightful combination of savory Spam and sweet-and-sour inari sushi.
Main Ingredients
- Store-bought fried tofu pouches (inari sushi pockets, triangle or square)
- Spam (100g)
- Warm cooked rice (approx. 2 servings)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the store-bought fried tofu pouches. Gently squeeze out the liquid from the pouches by hand to remove excess moisture. Be careful not to squeeze too hard, as they might break; a gentle press is ideal.
Step 2
Finely chop 100g of Spam. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chopped Spam without any oil and stir-fry until golden brown and slightly crispy. Frying it in its own rendered fat will enhance the flavor.
Step 3
Place the warm cooked rice in a large bowl. Ensure the rice isn’t too hot, as it might affect how well the seasoning mixes. Sprinkle the sushi vinegar mix that comes with the inari sushi kit over the rice.
Step 4
Add all the crispy fried Spam you prepared earlier on top of the rice and sushi seasoning.
Step 5
Using a spatula or spoon, gently mix the rice, sushi seasoning, and fried Spam together until well combined. Be careful not to mash the rice grains while mixing.
Step 6
Gently open one side of a prepared tofu pouch. Fill it with a portion of the seasoned rice, shaping it as you fill. Avoid overfilling, as the pouch might burst. Adjust the amount of rice according to the size of the tofu pouch. Once done, you have delicious Spam Inari Sushi! Enjoy this simple yet satisfying meal or late-night snack. ^^
