  • Ingredient Category : Seafood
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 5 servings
  • Cooking Time : More than 2 hours
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • Salted Sea Mustard Stems 150g
  • Onion 100g (about 1/4 medium onion)
  • Carrot 90g (about 1/4 medium carrot)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • Sesame Oil 2 tsp
  • Olive Oil 1 tsp
  • Minced Garlic 1 tsp (from 1 clove of garlic)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients, including the sea mustard stems and vegetables. It’s important to select fresh ingredients for your baby’s meal.

Step 1

Step 2

The most crucial step for salted sea mustard stems is to remove the saltiness. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water multiple times. If the saltiness is still strong, soak them in water for about 5 hours, changing the water periodically. Once soaked, drain the sea mustard stems in a colander.

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the onion and carrot, peel them, and then thinly slice them into matchsticks. Cutting them thinly will ensure a tender texture when cooked, making it easier for your baby to eat.

Step 3

Step 4

Cut the drained sea mustard stems into bite-sized pieces that are easy for your baby to chew. Avoid making them too long; cut them into manageable lengths.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat the pan over medium-low heat, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, and then add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Gently stir-fry the garlic until it’s fragrant. Sautéing slowly helps release the garlic’s aroma without making it bitter, adding a wonderful flavor. Be careful not to burn it!

Step 5

Step 6

Once the garlic begins to turn golden, add the sliced onion and carrot to the pan and stir-fry them together. The moisture from the vegetables will help prevent the garlic from burning and allow the flavors to meld.

Step 6

Step 7

When the onion and carrot become translucent and are almost cooked through, add the prepared sea mustard stems to the pan.

Step 7

Step 8

Now, continuously stir the ingredients with a spatula or chopsticks to prevent the sea mustard stems from sticking to the pan. Stir-frying evenly is key. Continue cooking for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Step 9

Once all ingredients are evenly cooked, turn off the heat. Add 2 teaspoons of sesame oil and gently toss the ingredients with the residual heat to coat them evenly. The nutty aroma of the sesame oil will enhance the flavor.

Step 9

Step 10

Your delicious Sea Mustard Stem Stir-Fry, a dish your baby will love, is now complete! It has a great color and is packed with nutrients, making it a wonderful addition to your baby’s meal.

Step 10

Step 11

Serve this tasty stir-fry in a small bowl alongside warm rice. Watch as your little one happily enjoys this flavorful and healthy dish!
