Main Ingredients- Spinach 250g
- Salt for blanching 0.5 tsp
Seasoning- Minced garlic 1 tsp
- Soup soy sauce 1 tsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Sesame seeds, a pinch
- Minced garlic 1 tsp
- Soup soy sauce 1 tsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Sesame seeds, a pinch
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the fresh spinach. Remove any yellowed or spoiled leaves and trim it cleanly. Since this recipe is for babies, we’ll cut off the roots, even though winter spinach roots are delicious, to make it easier to eat.
Step 2
Briefly soak the spinach in water, then rinse it thoroughly multiple times. This ensures that any soil or debris hidden between the leaves is completely removed. Rinsing this way makes the spinach much cleaner.
Step 3
In a pot, bring plenty of water to a rolling boil with 0.5 tsp of salt. Once the water is boiling, add the prepared spinach and blanch it quickly for just 30 seconds. Be careful not to over-blanch, as spinach can become mushy and lose nutrients if cooked for too long.
Step 4
As soon as you remove the blanched spinach from the hot water, rinse it immediately in cold water to cool it down. Rinsing in cold water helps to maintain a vibrant green color and a crisp texture. Squeeze out as much water as possible with your hands, then chop the spinach into bite-sized pieces suitable for your baby.
Step 5
To the prepared spinach, add 1 tsp of minced garlic, 1 tsp of soup soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of fragrant sesame oil, and a pinch of sesame seeds. Gently toss and mix everything with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can make the spinach mushy.
