Sandwich Filling Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 2 fresh eggs
  • A small amount of carrot (finely diced)
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • A pinch of salt (to taste)
  • A pinch of black pepper (to taste)
  • A pinch of sugar (to adjust sweetness)
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar (for boiling eggs)
  • A pinch of salt (for boiling eggs)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s begin by preparing for our delicious and soft morning bun sandwiches. This recipe is wonderfully simple yet delivers exceptional flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

In a pot, add enough water to cover the eggs. Add 1/2 tsp of vinegar and a pinch of salt to the water. Once the water comes to a boil, carefully place the eggs in the pot and boil them for about 10 minutes until they are hard-boiled. After boiling, rinse the eggs under cold water; this helps make peeling them much easier once they’ve cooled down.

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the potatoes thoroughly, peel them, and cut them into manageable pieces. Place the cut potatoes in a pot, add water, and bring to a boil. Cook the potatoes until they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork. Drain the cooked potatoes and have them ready while they are still warm.

Step 3

Step 4

Place the warm, boiled potatoes and the completely cooled, peeled hard-boiled eggs into a bowl. Using a fork, mash them gently until they reach a smooth consistency. Mashing them while they are still warm helps achieve a better texture, but be careful not to mash them when they are too hot, as this can make them gummy. Aim for a mash with minimal lumps.

Step 4

Step 5

To the mashed potatoes and eggs, add the finely diced carrot, 1 Tbsp of mayonnaise, 1/2 tsp of sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. The carrot adds a pleasant texture and a lovely color. Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly until well combined.

Step 5

Step 6

The sandwich filling, our delicious salad, is now complete! It’s time to prepare the bread. Get your 4 soft morning buns ready.

Step 6

Step 7

Using a knife, carefully slice the morning buns in half horizontally. You can either cut them completely through or leave one side attached to create a hinged bun. Generously spoon the prepared potato and egg salad onto the bottom half of each bun. Be mindful not to overfill, so the bun doesn’t break.

Step 7

Step 8

Your delicious morning bun sandwiches, filled generously, are ready to be enjoyed with a warm cup of Americano coffee! It’s the perfect combination for a delightful autumn afternoon.

Step 8

Step 9

Embrace the autumn season and savor a relaxing moment with your coffee and these delightful morning bun sandwiches – the perfect homemade treat for today.
