Sandwich Ingredients- 4 Morning Buns
- 4 slices Thick-cut Bacon
- 4 leaves Romaine Lettuce
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Hard-boiled Egg
- 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your fresh eggs. Fill a pot with cold water, add 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of vinegar, then gently place the eggs in the water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes to achieve hard-boiled eggs. Once cooked, rinse the eggs under cold water to cool them down before peeling.
Step 2
Take your thick-cut bacon. Heat a pan over medium heat and place the bacon slices in it without adding any oil. Cook the bacon on both sides until golden brown and crispy. Allowing the bacon’s natural fat to render out will result in a deliciously crisp texture.
Step 3
For a crispier texture, briefly soak the fresh romaine lettuce leaves in a bowl of cold water for about 5 minutes. Drain them thoroughly, ensuring as much water as possible is removed by patting them dry with paper towels to prevent a soggy sandwich. Slice the ripe tomato in half and then cut each half into approximately 1cm thick rounds.
Step 4
Using a serrated bread knife, carefully slice the soft morning buns horizontally in half. Spread a thin, even layer of mayonnaise on the cut surfaces of both halves of the bun. The mayonnaise acts as a moisture barrier and helps meld the flavors of the ingredients together.
Step 5
On the bottom half of the bun spread with mayonnaise, layer the crisp romaine lettuce leaves. Next, arrange the crispy cooked bacon, followed by the juicy tomato slices, and finally, the sliced or lightly mashed hard-boiled egg. Layering the ingredients creates a more substantial and flavorful sandwich.
Step 6
Place the top half of the morning bun over the fillings, and your convenient and delicious BLT sandwich lunchbox is ready! Take a bite and savor the rich flavors and satisfying textures that fill your mouth.
