Essential Ingredients
  • 1 packet Shin Ramyun
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 9 shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion
  • 8 strips bacon

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thinly slice 4 cloves of garlic. Slicing them thinly helps their flavor infuse well into the oil.

Step 2

Thinly slice 9 shiitake mushrooms. The chewy texture of the mushrooms pairs wonderfully with the creamy rosé sauce.

Step 3

Finely julienne 1/2 onion. Cooking the onion will bring out its natural sweetness, deepening the flavor of the rosé sauce.

Step 4

Cut 8 strips of bacon into bite-sized pieces. The salty flavor and rendered fat from the bacon will enhance the overall richness of the dish.

Step 5

Heat a pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of olive oil. Sauté the thinly sliced garlic until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 6

Once the garlic starts to turn golden, add the julienned onion and sauté together until the onion becomes translucent. This step brings out the onion’s sweetness.

Step 7

When the onion is halfway cooked, add the chopped bacon and cook together. Sauté until the bacon is nicely browned and has rendered some of its fat.

Step 8

Once the onion is fully cooked and fragrant, add the sliced shiitake mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms soften, ensuring all the vegetables are well-cooked.

Step 9

When all the vegetables are cooked, pour in 400ml of milk and 200ml of heavy cream. This creates the base for your smooth and creamy rosé sauce.

Step 10

Once the sauce begins to simmer, add the Shin Ramyun soup packet and stir well to dissolve. The signature spicy flavor of Shin Ramyun combined with the rosé sauce creates a delightful spicy-creamy balance.

Step 11

Stir in 1 teaspoon of gochujang, ensuring it’s fully incorporated without lumps. Gochujang adds a subtle spiciness and umami to the rosé sauce.

Step 12

Now, add the Shin Ramyun noodles. Cook them for about 4 minutes and 30 seconds, slightly less than the package instructions, to ensure they don’t get too mushy. Check the noodle texture as they cook.

Step 13

When the noodles are almost done, add a handful of blanched broccoli florets. The broccoli adds a nice crunch and a vibrant color to the Rosé Shin Ramyun.

Step 14

Finally, add 20g of grated Parmesan cheese. Let the sauce simmer slightly until it thickens and coats the noodles beautifully. The melting cheese adds a rich and savory depth.

Step 15

Transfer the luscious Rosé Shin Ramyun to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Your delicious Rosé Shin Ramyun is ready to enjoy!
