Sweet Winter Leeks Galore! Smoked Duck Stir-fry with Leeks – A Perfect Snack with Drinks!
We’ve made a delicious stir-fry dish generously packed with smoked duck and sweet winter leeks. It’s perfect as a simple side dish for drinks or as a quick meal for the kids.
Main Ingredients- 1 pack Smoked Duck (approx. 600g)
- 1 large Leek (thick and substantial)
- 5-6 leaves Perilla Leaves (Kkaennip)
Seasoning- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare one large, thick leek. Slice it diagonally into strips about 1cm thick. Cutting them not too thinly will help maintain a crisp texture when stir-fried. You can also use pre-shredded leeks from the store.
Step 2
Wash 5-6 perilla leaves thoroughly, pat them dry, and slice them into strips similar in thickness to the leeks. Make sure not to cut them too thinly.
Step 3
Get one pack of smoked duck (about 600g). If the pieces are too large, cut them in half (to about 2-3cm) before placing them in the pan for easier cooking.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium heat and add only the prepared smoked duck. Stir-fry until it’s nicely golden brown. The duck will release its own flavorful oil as it cooks.
Step 5
Once the smoked duck has released a good amount of its oil, add all the sliced leeks to the pan. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce and a pinch of black pepper, then stir-fry everything together. The oyster sauce will enhance the duck’s savory flavor.
Step 6
Add the sliced perilla leaves and stir-fry quickly over high heat for about 30 seconds. Overcooking the leeks and perilla leaves will make them lose their crispness, so a brief stir-fry on high heat is key to preserving their texture.
Step 7
After quickly stir-frying all the ingredients, turn off the heat. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds to finish. This delightful Smoked Duck and Leek Stir-fry, bursting with the sweetness of winter leeks and the savory richness of duck, is now complete. It’s a simple yet satisfying dish, perfect as an appetizer with drinks or a hearty side for kids.
