A quick and easy fried rice recipe made with smoked duck. This dish is perfect for a simple yet satisfying meal.
Ingredients- 2 bowls of cooked rice
- 300g smoked duck breast
- 1 stalk of green onion (white part)
- 1/2 onion
- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To ensure a pleasant texture in your fried rice, it’s best to chop the vegetables as finely as possible. Finely mince the white part of the green onion and the half onion. This finely chopped texture allows the vegetables to distribute evenly throughout the rice, enhancing the overall flavor.
Step 2
Similarly, dice the 300g of smoked duck breast into very small pieces. If the pieces are too large, they can feel disconnected from the rice. Aim for pieces about the size of a grain of rice. Place the diced smoked duck directly into a frying pan. You don’t need to add any cooking oil, as the smoked duck will render enough fat on its own.
Step 3
As the smoked duck begins to cook in the pan over medium heat, add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic. The aromatic garlic will meld beautifully with the duck, elevating the flavor profile of the fried rice.
Step 4
Once the smoked duck is partially cooked, add the finely chopped onion and green onion to the pan. Stir-fry them together with the duck, allowing the rendered duck fat to coat the vegetables. Continue to cook until the vegetables become slightly softened and translucent. This step is crucial for melding the flavors of all the ingredients.
Step 5
When the onions and green onions appear tender and slightly softened, add 2 bowls of warm cooked rice to the pan. Use a spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice and mix it thoroughly with the duck and vegetable mixture.
Step 6
Now it’s time to add the savory depth! Reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Pour 2 Tbsp of oyster sauce around the edges of the pan. Gently stir the rice, scraping from the bottom, to ensure the sauce coats every grain of rice evenly. Cooking on low heat prevents the rice from burning and allows the oyster sauce to fully infuse its flavor.
Step 7
Finally, sprinkle 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds over the fried rice. The sesame seeds not only add visual appeal but also contribute a delightful nutty flavor with every bite.
Step 8
And there you have it – delicious smoked duck fried rice is ready! Serve it attractively in a bowl while hot for a wonderful meal. Enjoy your cooking!
