Main Ingredients

  • 250g Korean Beef Sirloin
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Rosemary Powder

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Start by preparing your two types of instant noodles: Chapagetti and Shin Ramyun. These will form the base of our unique dish.

Step 1

Step 2

Next, get your sirloin steak ready. This premium cut will add a luxurious touch to the noodles.

Step 2

Step 3

Gently pat the sirloin steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture or blood. This step is crucial for achieving a perfect sear and preventing a gamey flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt, swirling the pan to coat the bottom.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the butter is melted and slightly foamy, carefully place the seasoned sirloin steak into the hot pan. Immediately season the top of the steak with freshly ground black pepper, a pinch of salt, and a sprinkle of rosemary powder.

Step 5

Step 6

Sear the steak over high heat until the surface is deeply browned and caramelized. Make sure your pan is sufficiently hot before adding the steak to create a beautiful crust. Cooking over high heat initially helps to lock in the juices.

Step 6

Step 7

Flip the steak and continue cooking, alternating between high and medium heat. After searing on high, reduce the heat to medium and cook for approximately 10 minutes, aiming for a medium-rare doneness. This method ensures a tender interior with a well-developed crust. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be around 130-135°F (54-57°C).

Step 7

Step 8

Once cooked to your desired doneness, transfer the sirloin steak to a piece of aluminum foil.

Step 8

Step 9

Immediately wrap the steak tightly in the aluminum foil. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.

Step 9

Step 10

Using the same pan used for the steak (without cleaning it, to capture the delicious browned bits), fry an egg. Aim for a sunny-side-up or over-easy style, so the yolk remains runny.

Step 10

Step 11

After resting, unwrap the sirloin steak and slice it into desired portions. Thicker slices will look more impressive.

Step 11

Step 12

While the steak was resting, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add both the Chapagetti noodles and Shin Ramyun noodles to the boiling water. Include only the dried vegetable flakes from the soup packets at this stage.

Step 12

Step 13

Cook the noodles until they are about two-thirds done. Drain most of the water, leaving just a little at the bottom of the pot. Add the Chapagetti soup base and half of the Shin Ramyun soup base, mixing well. Don’t forget to add the olive oil packet from the Chapagetti.

Step 13

Step 14

The residual heat will continue to cook the noodles as you mix them with the sauce, ensuring they are perfectly tender without becoming mushy. Cooking them only two-thirds of the way before saucing is key to achieving the right texture.

Step 14

Step 15

Arrange the sliced sirloin steak attractively over the sauced noodles.

Step 15

Step 16

Place the fried egg in the center of the steak, adding a beautiful visual element and a creamy texture.

Step 16

Step 17

Garnish with the chopped scallions for a fresh finish. Your gourmet Sirloin Steak Chapaguri, inspired by ‘Parasite,’ is now complete! It’s a delicious combination that rivals the original. If Shin Ramyun is unavailable, Jin Ramyun or any other spicy ramen with a similar noodle thickness can be used as a substitute.
