Ingredients

  • 1 pack pre-cooked braising soybeans (approx. 200-250g)
  • 2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
  • 2-3 Tbsp soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Today, I’ll introduce a delicious recipe for braised soybeans. They’re a real appetite enhancer!

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare 1 pack of pre-cooked braising soybeans in a shallow pot or a wide frying pan. It’s a good idea to lightly rinse the beans from the package under running water and drain them.

Step 2

Step 3

Add 2 cups (approx. 400ml) of water to the pan with the beans. Simmer over low heat until the beans soften and most of the water has evaporated, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the beans from sticking to the bottom.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water has reduced, add 2 Tbsp of oligosaccharide and 2-3 Tbsp of soy sauce. You can adjust the amount of soy sauce based on the quantity of beans and your preference. Continue to simmer over medium-low heat until the glaze is glossy and coats the beans, about 5-7 more minutes.

Step 4

Step 5

As the braised soybeans are nearing completion and have a nice sheen, stir in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil just before turning off the heat to add a fragrant aroma. A quick mix will enhance the overall flavor.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, generously sprinkle 2 Tbsp of sesame seeds on top for garnish. The nutty flavor of the sesame seeds adds another layer of deliciousness to the braised soybeans.

Step 6

Step 7

And just like that, your simple yet delicious braised soybeans are ready! They pair wonderfully with a bowl of hot rice for a satisfying meal.

Step 7

Step 8

Enjoy your sweet and savory braised soybeans!
