Simple Stir-Fried Dried Seaweed Recipe
Quick & Easy Korean Side Dish: Stir-Fried Dried Seaweed
Craving a simple yet delicious side dish? This stir-fried dried seaweed is perfect for those days when you don’t feel like grocery shopping or when you need a quick fix for your side dish needs. Its chewy texture and savory flavor are incredibly addictive!
Main Ingredients- Dried seaweed 1/2 cup (measuring cup)
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Anchovy sauce 1/2 Tbsp (or soy sauce)
- Toasted sesame seeds, a pinch
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the dried seaweed in cold water 2-3 times to rehydrate it. Avoid soaking for too long, as it can become mushy. Soak for about 5-10 minutes, then rinse lightly under running water and squeeze out any excess water thoroughly. Cut the seaweed into bite-sized pieces (about 3-4 cm long).
Step 2
Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the rehydrated seaweed and minced garlic, and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the seaweed softens and wilts. Be careful not to burn the ingredients.
Step 3
Once the seaweed is sufficiently stir-fried, add the anchovy sauce (or soy sauce) and mix well to season. You can use Korean soup soy sauce or regular soy sauce instead of anchovy sauce. For a touch of sweetness, you can add a tiny pinch of sugar (about 1/4 tsp) to your preference.
