Main Ingredients

  • 2 Tortillas
  • 2 Sausages (choose your favorite kind)
  • 1 Small Onion
  • A little Green Onion (Scallion)
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp Steak Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Oligodang (Korean corn syrup)
  • A little Cooking Oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the sausages. Briefly blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes; this helps them cook evenly without bursting. Once blanched, remove them and thinly slice them diagonally. Place the sliced sausages in a pan.

Step 1

Step 2

Peel and wash the small onion thoroughly. Dice it into pieces similar in size to the sausage, or slightly smaller. Add the diced onion to the pan with the sausages. Sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper. Add a tiny bit of cooking oil and stir-fry over medium heat until the onion becomes translucent. Be careful not to burn it.

Step 2

Step 3

To the sautéed ingredients, add 4 tablespoons of steak sauce and 1 tablespoon of oligodang. Stir well and cook until everything is evenly coated. The rich flavor of the steak sauce combined with the sweetness of oligodang will create a delicious sauce. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the sauce to penetrate the ingredients.

Step 3

Step 4

Wash the green onion (both white and green parts) and chop it finely. Add the chopped green onion to the pan and mix gently. The fresh aroma of the green onion will add another layer of flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, increase the heat to high and quickly stir-fry all the ingredients for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (a quick ‘whoosh!’). Then, turn off the heat. Avoid overcooking, as the vegetables can become mushy. A quick sauté preserves a nice crisp texture.

Step 5

Step 6

Warm the tortillas. Place a tortilla on a dry pan or a lightly heated pan over low heat, and toast it lightly on both sides until golden brown. This makes the tortilla softer and enhances its nutty flavor. Be careful not to burn it; toast for about 10-20 seconds per side.

Step 6

Step 7

On the warm, toasted tortilla, spread the prepared sausage mixture evenly. Don’t overfill, or it will be difficult to roll.

Step 7

Step 8

Fold in the edge of the tortilla slightly, then tightly roll it up from one end to the other (‘doreureu~’). If it seems a bit tricky at first, a few tries will make it easier.

Step 8

Step 9

Wrap the finished sausage tortilla rolls in sandwich paper or parchment paper. Roll it up tightly to secure the ends. This keeps them neat and makes them easy to handle and transport.

Step 9

Step 10

Slice the rolls into bite-sized pieces (halving them usually works well) and arrange them on a plate. Your delicious sausage tortilla rolls are ready to eat! They are best enjoyed warm. Try them as a snack for kids or a quick meal. Enjoy your tasty treat! ‘Chop~ Chop~~’
